LYNCHBURG, Va. (March 11, 2026) — Lynchburg registered 16 hits and scored in four of the first six innings while its pitching staff combined for an 8-0 shutout of Pfeiffer on Wednesday afternoon at James C. Fox Field.
Jack Pokorak and Quinn Madden each homered for the Hornets (10-3-1), who struck early with three runs in the first and never looked back. Pokorak opened the scoring with a two-run shot to left, and Madden added a two-run homer in the sixth to extend the lead.
Gavin Angelillo went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Brandon Garcia and Benton Jones added two hits apiece. Lynchburg produced eight runs on 16 hits, stole three bases and had eight different players drive in at least one run.
Six Lynchburg pitchers combined to allow just four hits while striking out 11. Starter Lucas Marrero earned the win after throwing two scoreless innings with six strikeouts. The Hornets' bullpen followed with seven dominant innings to finish the shutout.
Pfeiffer (5-10) managed four hits, two of them from
Joe Javier, but stranded 10 runners and struck out 11 times.
Badin Gusa recorded the Falcons' only extra-base hit with a pinch-hit double in the sixth.

Trent Lowe took the loss, giving up five runs on six hits in 1? innings. Pfeiffer used seven pitchers in the defeat.
Lynchburg led 3-0 after one inning, 5-0 after two and 6-0 through three before adding two insurance runs in the sixth
Pfeiffer will travel to Cary, N.C. to open USA South play against William Peace on Friday, March 13. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the USA Baseball Training Facility.
