Softball Drops Games to Emory and Lewis & Clark

ATLANTA, Ga. (March 13, 2026 — Pfeiffer dropped a pair games of a Friday doubleheader at Cooper Field, falling 2-0 to No. 22 Emory in the opener and 2–1 to Lewis & Clark in game two at the Eagles Elite Invitational

Game 1: Emory 2, Pfeiffer 0

Emory's Sydney Thune tossed a dominant four-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks as the Eagles blanked the Falcons 2–0. Thune needed just 99 pitches in the complete-game victory.
Emory (7–7) scored in the first when leadoff hitter Ashley Chu singled, advanced on a sacrifice and crossed the plate on Ellie Zerr's RBI single. The Eagles added a run in the fifth on a sequence of a single, an error and a bases-loaded walk.

Pfeiffer mustered singles from E.A. Nance, Natalie Auman, Brooke Piper and Heather Vaughn but never moved a runner past second base. Mollie Bulla took the loss after allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits in five innings.

Game 2: Lewis & Clark 2, Pfeiffer 1

In the second game, Pfeiffer again led early but watched the game slip away late, surrendering two seventh-inning runs in a 2–1 loss to Lewis & Clark.

The Falcons (12–6) took a 1–0 lead in the second inning when Natalie Auma walked, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly from Charly Coope. Earlier in the frame, Heather Vaughn tripled but was thrown out at the plate trying to score.

Lewis & Clark (6–6) broke through in the seventh. After a walk and hit-by-pitch set the table, Makena Dahir singled to load the bases, and Cici Fortuno delivered the decisive two-run single to flip the score.

Reese Caranna worked three scoreless innings to start for Pfeiffer before turning things over to the bullpen. Abigail Bowman and Mollie Bulla combined for the final four frames, with Bulla allowing the go-ahead runs. Landry Stewart collected two hits and two stolen bases to pace the Falcons' offense.

Pfeiffer will take on Lewis & Clark and Emory once more on Saturday, March 14.
