Baseball Sweeps William Peace, Winning 7-4 and 5-2

Pfeiffer Baseball Sweeps William Peace in Saturday Road Doubleheader

CARY, N.C. (March 14, 2026) — Pfeiffer used a six-run first inning in game one and a pair of early home runs in game two to complete a USA South doubleheader sweep of William Peace on Saturday, winning 7–4 and 5–2 at the USA Baseball National Training Center.

Game 1: Pfeiffer 7, William Peace 4

Pfeiffer erupted for six runs in the opening inning and held off repeated threats to take the doubleheader opener. The Falcons scored their six runs on six hits in the first, highlighted by RBI from Jack Brandle, Badin Gusa, Connor Coy, and a two-run knock from Tony Mejias.

William Peace answered with two runs in the bottom half and added single runs in the second and seventh, but stranded 12 runners and never closed the gap. Nathan Roller led the Pacers with three hits, while Gavin Turner drove in two.

Pfeiffer starter Jake Blevins worked four innings before the bullpen took over. Cameron Cooper threw three strong innings of relief and Dylan Dula closed for the save, allowing just two hits over two scoreless frames.

Pfeiffer (7–10) finished with 10 hits and drew nine walks, manufacturing insurance with a third-inning RBI groundout from Coy. William Peace (6–12) tallied 12 hits but couldn't overcome the early deficit.

Game 2: Pfeiffer 5, William Peace 2

In the second game, Pfeiffer again struck early. Christian Bellanton launched a solo homer in the first, and Gusa followed with a solo shot in the second to give the Falcons a quick 2–0 lead. Pfeiffer added runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings, including RBIs from Joe Javier and Austin Wood.

William Peace scored on Kyle Peters' RBI double in the third and added its second run in the eighth, but stranded 10 runners. Aaron Kimbel and Nathan Roller each recorded two hits.

Starter Cayman Buck delivered six innings of one-run work for the Falcons, scattering five hits while striking out two. Sam Safrit and Josh Little combined for the final nine outs, with Little retiring all four batters he faced to earn the save.

Pfeiffer will return to Joe Ferebee Field on Tuesday, March 17 for a 4:00 p.m. nonconference game with Guilford.
