Box Score Misenheimer, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (12-2) scored their 12th win of the season as they defeated NC Wesleyan (7-11) 66-49 inside Merner Gym. The Falcons were led by freshman Abby Waggoner, who came off the bench to score 12 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Waggoner also shot 50 percent from the floor. Waggoner's 12 points on the night was her second highest scoring game on the season behind only her 14 point performance against William Peace on November 20.
Despite a closely contested first half, Pfeiffer came out in the second half and outscored the Battling Bishops 16-8 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 20, and they never looked back. Freshman A'Mya McClain scored 9 points on the night while shooting 4-6 from the floor. Senior point guard Dajea Scott also had a productive night, scoring 8 points and dishing out 7 assists.
The Falcon defense played well as they forced NC Wesleyan in to 29 turnovers on the contest. As a team, Pfeiffer collected 14 steals for the game. Senior Grayson Harris had a big night on the defensive end, blocking four shots while pulling down 5 defensive rebounds.
The Battling Bishops were led by junior guard Nadiya Holley, who scored 9 points in 15 minutes of action. Daijah Davis also chipped in with 6 points while shooting 3-6 from the floor.
The Falcons are back in action this weekend as they take on Greensboro College on the road Saturday afternoon. Tip off is scheduled for 2:00.
