Box Score Greensboro, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (13-2) came out victorious on the road today as they defeated Greensboro College (13-5) 64-60. Sydni Bickford led the way for the Falcons, scoring a career high 29 points on the afternoon. Bickford went 5-10 from long range and 61 percent from the floor. 11 of those 29 points came in a fourth quarter in which Pfeiffer outscored the Pride 16-13.
Senior Dajea Scott chipped in with 9 points, while another senior, Kayla Whitworth, came through with 7 points and 4 rebounds off the bench.
The game went back and forth throughout, with the Falcons going on a 6-0 run in the final 40 seconds to steal the victory. Senior Grayson Harris sealed the win two two huge free throws to put the Falcons up 4 with just 1 second to play. With the win, Pfeiffer completed a 2 game season sweep of Greensboro.
It was another strong defensive effort for the Falcons, as they forced the Pride in to 25 turnovers. Pfeiffer came up with 12 steals on the contest and turned those in to 25 points. Freshman A'Mya led the team with 4 steals, while Dajea Scott came up with 3 of her own.
For the Pride, sophomore guard Katie Lewis led the way with 13 points and 8 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Shaniah Haynes and Lauren Jenkins each scored 10 points each.
Up next for Pfeiffer is a Sunday afternoon matchup against Averett. The Falcons will try and complete the season sweep of the Cougars on the road, with tip off scheduled for 2:00.
