Box Score Pfeiffer Men Settle for 2-2 Draw With Johnson & Wales

Pineville, N.C. (Sept 7, 2022) – Despite falling down 2-0, the Pfeiffer University men's soccer team scored a pair of second half goals to salvage a 2-2 tie on the road at Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night in Pineville, N.C.

How It Happened
After a scoreless first half, JWU opened the scoring in the 63^rd minute on a score from Tighe Torgesen on an assist from Diaje' Hart.  The Wildcat lead would go to 2-0 when Billy Esparza-Diaz scored just 38 seconds later on an unassisted goal.

Pfeiffer junior Sam Stewart (Belhaven, N.C.) scored his eight career goal and his third of the season in the 67^th minute to draw Pfeiffer to 2-1.

A little over 10 minutes later, Nick Ruscetti (Wilmington, N.C.) notched his first career goal to tie the match at 2-2.

The Falcons had one last chance to tally the game-winner in the waning minutes, but Stewart's corner kick produced no shot on goal, with Pfeiffer settling for their second draw of the season.
